Applications, References, and Requirements
for Admission to Richmont

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The Admissions Committee evaluates all aspects of each application. Please allow approximately four weeks for a decision.

We encourage applicants to submit materials prior to posted deadlines. Applications received after final deadlines may be considered on a space-available basis.

Non-Degree Admission
If you need academic credit (audit or for credit) and a transcripted record, please complete the Non-Degree application.

Below are tables displaying all programs of study in our 12 School of Counseling programs and 6 School of Ministry programs to help students see the total cost of attendance for each of Richmont’s degree and certificate programs.

The actual total cost of the program depends on many factors, including the actual number of hours, duration of the program, and any cost changes. The below table is designed to give students an estimated cost based on the figure provided. Travel expenses, supplies, and books are not included in these estimated costs.

This section is for the following degree-seeking students:

  • Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Online)
  • Master of Science in Mental Health Care and Christian Integration

In addition to the application, students applying to the School of Counseling must also submit:

  • One Academic/Professional Reference
    The Academic/Professional Reference should be completed by someone who can address the applicant’s academic or professional characteristics. Ideally, it should be a professor or supervisor.
  • One Character Reference
    The Character Reference should be completed by a friend or someone close to the applicant. Ideally, it should be someone that can provide a candid evaluation of the applicant.

This section is for the following degree-seeking students:

  • Master of Arts in Ministry
  • Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation and Direction
  • Master of Arts in Ministry: Anglican Studies Concentration
  • Master of Arts in Trauma, Theology, and Ministry

Students applying to the School of Ministry, including students applying for entrance into the Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction, must also submit:

  • One Ministry Reference
    The Ministry Reference should be completed by a pastor, small group leader, missions leader, etc.  Ideally, it should be someone that can address your ministry involvement and who you have served with, under, or alongside.

This section is for students seeking admission to the Doctor of Ministry program.

Application Requirements
  • Admission application with a $50 nonrefundable application fee
  • An acknowledgement that the applicant has reviewed the Statement of Faith
  • A 40 hours Master’s degree with 11 hours of Bible and Theology in Ministry or a related field of study
  • Two completed reference forms:
    • Character reference
    • Pastoral reference
    • Academic or Professional reference
  • Resume
  • Academic Writing Sample
  • Personal Interview with the Dean of the School of Ministry and Program Director
  • A personal statement that outlines the applicant’s intent behind applying for the Doctor of Ministry at Richmont. Said application must be between 500 to 700 words typed, double spaced.
